Ontario PNP has issued 6,826 NOIs this year- Find out why it is a crucial pathway to apply for Canada PR

Canadian government offers various pathways and programs to the skilled professionals to apply for the Permanent Resident (PR) visa and obtain the same. The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) is one of such immigration programs that every year nominate a significant number of foreign skilled workers for Canadian permanent residency. It is one of the key Canadian Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs).

Ontario PNP performance in 2021

The Ontario PNP has issued total 6,826 Notifications of Interest (NOIs) to apply for provincial nomination this year until the most recent OINP draw held on 7th October for French-speaking Skilled Worker stream. Canada primarily invite the candidates under its key Express Entry linked streams. Find below the invitations issued by Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) under its three main PNP streams:

Notifications of interest issued in 2021 to date

• Human Capital Priorities stream – 4,851
• French-Speaking Skilled Worker stream – 651
• Skilled Trades stream – 1,324

As you can see above, the Express Entry- OINP- Human Capital Priorities (HCP) Stream candidates have received the maximum number of invitation this year. There are still two more months left in the 2021 calendar year, hence, the number of total invitations issued this year is likely to go further up.

Express Entry streams of OINP

Express Entry aligned streams of Ontario PNP function in coordination with IRCC’s Express Entry System. The OINP has access to EE pool. The province select the suitable candidates from the express entry pool and issues them Notifications of Interest (NOIs) to apply for provincial nomination.

If you have received the NOI from Ontario, you need to apply for the relevant stream of the Ontario PNP within the specified time.  Ontario then assess the submitted applications and subsequently, nominate the selected candidates for Canadian Permanent Resident (PR) visa.
