Ontario- Entrepreneur stream received NOIs in the latest OINP draw

Ontario held the draw for Entrepreneur stream of Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) on August 16, 2022 to issue 30 Notifications of Interest (NOIs) to apply for provincial nomination. The OINP- Entrepreneur stream is for entrepreneurs from overseas, who are interested in starting a new business or buying an existing business in Ontario, Canada. Find out more.

In this latest draw; OINP has issued 30 Notifications of Interest (NOIs) to apply for provincial nomination to the candidates registered under Entrepreneur stream. The OINP has only issued invitations to the Expression of Interest (EOI) received by August 8, 2022, whose score range was 138 and 160 points.

OINP- Entrepreneur Stream Process

The Entrepreneur Stream is an immigration stream under the OINP. It gives an entrepreneur (and up to one overseas national business partner) a chance to get nomination for Canadian PR Visa, once their business has been established in Ontario. The Entrepreneur Stream has a two-stage application process, i.e.

Stage 1

  • Register an EOI by email.
  • If you are able get Invitation, submit an online application.
  • You and your business partner (if applicable) attend a compulsory interview.
  • If your stage 1 application is successful, you need to sign a performance agreement.

Stage 2

  • Ontario issue a temporary work permit support letter so that you can apply to Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for a temporary work permit.
  • Launch your business - you have 20 months from the date you arrive in Ontario to apply your business plan and submit a final report.
  • If your business fulfil all requirements, OINP ask you for documentation to ensure you are eligible for nomination for PR.
