OINP Update- Ontario is now accepting Pearson Test of English (PTE) Core

Ontario has announced that in accordance with recent changes to the policy of Immigration Consultants of Canada Regulatory Council (ICCRC) Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) will also be accepting the Pearson Test of English (PTE) Core from Pearson Canada.

The OINP is one of the most popular Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) of Canada that every month invite the skilled worker applicants through periodic immigration draw and subsequently, nominate them for Canadian Permanent Residency (PR) Visa.

Ontario PNP is now accepting PTE

The OINP will accept the Pearson Tests of English (PTE) as proof of English proficiency for all streams of Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) that require proof of English language ability and for OINP Expression of Interest (EOI) points claims. The PTE will be an additional test that candidates may submit to the program to show their language ability. This change came into effect on January 30, 2024.

If you have registered an Expression of Interest (EOI) and have not received an Invitation, you may want to update your EOI if you have taken the PTE. This measure will not impact applicants who received an ITA or Notification of Interest from the OINP before January 30, 2024.
