Manitoba Issues 3,347 Letters of Advice to Apply in Latest MPNP Selection Round

In a significant move to address its growing labor needs, Manitoba has extended a welcoming hand to over 3,000 skilled workers and international graduates. The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) recently held a major draw September 4, 2025, inviting a diverse group of newcomers to apply for provincial nomination, a crucial step toward obtaining Canadian permanent residency.

New MPNP Draw

The September 4, 2025, selection round (Draw #253) saw a total of 3,347 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) issued. These invitations were distributed across several key immigration pathways:

  • International Education Stream: This stream led the way with 1,866 invitations, targeting international students who have completed their studies in the province.
  • Skilled Worker in Manitoba: A total of 1,466 invitations were issued under this category, which includes both general skilled worker applicants and a special selection for citizens of Ukraine.
  • Skilled Worker Overseas: A smaller, more targeted group of 15 invitations was sent to candidates with high scores, with a minimum cut-off of 844.

A notable aspect of the draw was the inclusion of strategic recruitment initiatives, which are designed to fill specific, high-demand roles within the province. These initiatives, which saw a total of 15 invitations, focused on areas like Employer Services, the Francophone Community, Regional Communities, and Ethnocultural Communities.

The MPNP also highlighted that 415 of the invitations went to candidates with existing Express Entry profiles, signalling a coordinated effort to streamline the immigration process for those already in the federal system

Strategic Recruitment: A Key to Manitoba's Growth

Manitoba's use of strategic recruitment is a proactive approach to managing its labor market. These initiatives allow the province to pinpoint and attract candidates with the exact skills needed to support local businesses and communities.

While the number of invitations is impressive, the MPNP reminds applicants that meeting the cut-off score doesn't guarantee an LAA. Issues like expired language test results or invalid invitation numbers can lead to a candidate being overlooked. Additionally, the province assesses whether a candidate has strong ties to another part of Canada, as a commitment to settling in Manitoba is a key requirement for successful nomination.

With this latest draw, Manitoba continues to solidify its reputation as a top destination for immigrants, providing a clear and accessible pathway for skilled workers and graduates to build their lives and careers in the province.
