AINP-Express Entry aligned stream

As you have seen above, Alberta invites candidates with a relatively low CRS point score. If an applicant applies in AINP- EE stream and is nominated, he/she becomes eligible to get the 600 points in his express entry account.

However, given recent Covid-19 pandemic, the AINP has announced some temporary changes in its program requirements, i.e. the applicant needs to be

  • working in the province of Alberta, even if working from home;
  • having a work permit authorizing them to work in their current job;
  • Having a full-time job, paid, fulfill the provincial minimum wage, exceed LMIA requirements; and they must work in an eligible occupation.

However, now the federal government has started easing out the restrictions imposed earlier for Covid-19. Express Entry system of IRCC is also holding the regular FSW category draw now.

Hence, Alberta may also follow the same and ease the temporary measures that it took for the Covid-19 situation. The regular AINP draw will surely open doors for the thousands of applicants for immigration to Canada.
