Source CIC news: Recently, Immigration, Refugee, Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has issued a memo and outlined the plans regarding Canadian immigration.
As per the memo, the Canadian Government plans to resume the FSWP and CEC invitations round later in 2022. Moreover, we can expect a release of the new Express Entry invitations plan to determine the timeline, volume and processing timings for the year 2022-2024.
Let's find out more about the IRCC's memo submitted to IRCC’s Deputy Minister.
Here are the key highlights of the memo:
Significant Fall in Application backlogs for Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)
With an aim to meet an ambitious immigration level target of 2022-2024, Canada is speed-up FSWP applications processing. More than 9,000 FSWP applications are already processed between the December mid and February end. While, for CEC applications, the backlog is merely 10,000. The IRCC has successfully processed 2,000 applications backlog of CEC candidates in the past two weeks and hopes to bring the CEC backlog to zero by coming spring.
The current backlog application processing rates suggest that Canada is prepping up to resume its FSWP and CEC invitations round soon.
