South Australia will release its updated SNOL (State Nominated Occupation List) for the year 2017-18 on July 4, 2017. The Immigration SA (South Australia) has issued an official statement in this regard. Release of revised occupation list is the yearly process of Immigration SA, which enables it to refine the immigration in the state and participate in the National Migration Program (NMP) as well.
Skilled Migration in South Australia
The DIBP (Department of Immigration and Border Protection) has restricted the applications for the Skilled Nominated Subclass 190 Visa in case of certain occupations in SNOL, hence, such applicants under such occupations can rather apply for Subclass 489 Visa. This indicates the policy of the Australian Government concerning regional occupations and the subsequent consideration by the Immigration SA.
Moreover, the Immigration South Australia may also confine some additional occupations to state nomination for the Skilled Regional (Provisional) Subclass 489 Visa.
New STSOL List
As per DIBP, the STSOL (Short Term Skilled Occupation List) will also be updated on 1st July, 2017. The Immigration SA will also take note of the upcoming changes in federal STSOL, as the State Nominated Occupation List (SNOL) also depends on the STSOL occupations.
The revised SNOL releasing on 4th July may undergo further changes, if advised by the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP).
How Applications will be processed
The Applications received prior to 3 PM (Australian Central Standard Time) on June 29, 2017 will be evaluated as per the present SNOL. The Immigration SA will attempt to confirm these applications in SkillSelect online system in order to ensure that no effect on these applications occur due to succeeding DIBP changes.
However, this will depend on the volume of the applications received, hence, the applicants are advised to submit their applications at earliest to ensure that they get processed prior to July 1st 2017.
Planned System Outage NoticeThe Application System of Immigration South Australia will be closed at 3 PM (Australian Central Standard Time) on June 29, 2017 and will open again at 12 PM (Australian Central Standard Time) on July 4, 2017
