Get Canada PR Visa with CRS score below 400- Ontario Released the List of Targeted ICT Occupations

Ontario- the major Canadian province has finally revealed its list of Targeted ICT occupations, which it will prefer for issuance of NOI (Notification of Interest) under the Express Entry stream of OINP.

The Express Entry Human Capital Priorities (HCP) stream is the key stream of popular Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP). Every year the province of Ontario nominates hundreds of applicants in Express Entry pool for Canada PR under Express Entry HCP stream. Ontario issues NOI to the suitable candidates from express entry pool, and subsequently the candidates will have to apply in the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP).

What is List of Targeted Occupations?

This time around, OINP has announced that it will select a few targeted demand occupations belonging to ICT sector for issuance of NOI to apply in OINP. This pattern has been started week beginning on June 26, 2017. The ICT occupations will be selected even if there CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) score is below 400 points. Usually, Ontario issued NOI to candidates who have CRS score 400 or above. However, these candidates must meet the Human capital priorities criteria as well.

Here is the list of Targeted Occupations

  • NOC 0131: Telecommunication Carriers Managers
  • NOC 0213: Computer and Information Systems Managers
  • NOC 2133: Electrical and Electronics Engineers
  • NOC 2147: Computer Engineers (Except Software Engineers and Designers)
  • NOC 2171: Information Systems Analysts and Consultants
  • NOC 2172: Database Analysts and Data Administrators
  • NOC 2173: Software Engineers and Designers
  • NOC 2174: Computer Programmers and Interactive Media Developers
  • NOC 2175: Web Designers and Developers
  • NOC 2241: Electrical and Electronics Engineering Technologists and Technicians
  • NOC 2281: Computer Network Technicians
  • NOC 2282: User Support Technicians
  • NOC 2283: Systems Testing Technicians
  • NOC 5224: Broadcast Technicians
  • NOC 5241: Graphic Designers and Illustrators

Process after Receiving the NOI

The candidates, who will receive NOI from Ontario, will have to apply in the Express Entry- Human Capital Priorities (HCP) stream of Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) within 6 months.

If you apply and get selected for nomination under Express Entry- HCP stream, you will be eligible to get additional 600 CRS points in express entry for Ontario nomination. The 600 CRS points will ensure your ITA (invitation to apply) for Canada PR from IRCC (Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada).

Eligibility Requirements of the HCP stream of OINP

The candidates looking to apply in HCP stream must meet the below parameters:
  • Minimum Work Experience required:
    • The work experience of 1 year within the last 5 years as per the FSWP (Federal Skilled Worker Program) parameters
    • The work experience of 1 year within the last 3 years as per the CEC (Canadian Experience Class) parameters
  • Qualification: Equivalent to Bachelor’s degree in Canada or above
  • Language: Minimum Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 7 in English or in French
  • Settlement Funds: A minimum level of savings or income in Ontario
  • Intent: Show intent to live in Ontario for long term
