Express Entry Year-End Review-2022- Positives waiting for applicants in 2023

Finally, one more calendar year has come to end with several positive hopes for Canada immigration aspirants in the New Year 2023. The year 2022 has been a mixed bag of events.

In the first half of the year, the applicants witnessed back-to-back program-based draws; however, in the later half, we have seen the IRCC holding all-program draws constantly and inviting a significant number of candidates to apply for Canadian PR (Permanent Resident) Visa.

All-program draws are back in business

The IRCC (Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada) has started conducting the all-program Express Entry draws once again from 6 July 2022, and now it is inviting a significant number of candidates in every such draw. It invited overall 46,538 candidates to apply for Canadian PR visa, out of which, most, i.e. 35,750 invitations issued through all-program draws only.

CRS score is dropping constantly

Another good news for the Canada PR aspirants in Express Entry system is that the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score requirement in EE draws is dropping constantly draw after draw. In the most recent EE draw held on 23 November CUT OFF was 491 points. However, soon, it is likely to drop to a point, where most number of candidates will get the Invitation to Apply (ITA) even with low CRS point score.

Upcoming Express Entry Changes in 2023

The New Year 2023 has many things enclosed for the aspirants of Canadian PR (Permanent Resident) Visa. In 2023, federal Express Entry System will invite 82,880 candidates to apply for Canadian PR visa. Find out key immigration changes and their impact on the applicants in 2023:

  • New NOC system: The IRCC has implemented new NOC system 2021 on 16 November 2022. After that, only one EE draw has occurred on 23 November. Hence, we yet to entirely know and understand its impact on EE draws and on the applicants. It will provide more clarity about experience, training and skills required for an occupation.
  • 16 New Occupations added: Addition of 16 new occupations will make increased number of people eligible for the Canadian PR (Permanent Resident) Visa under EE system and Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs).
  • Occupation based draws: The IRCC has announced that it will start the occupation based draws in 2023. Once this is employed, most likely, the dependency on the CRS score will end and people will get the ITAs based on their skills, experience and occupations.
