The Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has invited record number of candidates through federal Express Entry System this year until July month.
The express entry has set a new record of 57,700 invitations in a year (until July) as this is the highest number so far since the start of this program back in 2015. This feat is incredible considering the Covid-19 caused disruption this year since March 2020.

In the 5 years history of the Express Entry System, in no year, Express Entry issued such high number of invitations at this pint of the year. The previous highest was 54,487, which was created in year 2017.
In 2017, the record is also set for lowest Comprehensive Ranking System score requirement hence, it is logical to find the reason of higher number of invites being issued in 2017.
However, the number of candidates invited this year is also significant considering the row over the Covid-19 this year. This is really an encouraging sign for the aspirants of Canadian permanent residency through express entry. The Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has also started easing the travel restrictions and other measure taken earlier to control the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic.
The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score requirement has been volatile considering the program specific draws of PNP and CEC category this year. However, for the Federal Skilled Worker category the cut off is hovering around 470 mark, as the last draw for Federal Skilled Worker category occurred on 8th July 2020.
