Express Entry Half-Yearly Report 2021—Canada sets Multiple New Records

Canada’s Express Entry immigration system has completed six months of issuing ITAs (Invitations to Apply) in 2021, and so far, the year has been outstanding for many reasons. The Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has smashed many past records and set new records in terms of the issued invitations in particular. Let us analyse the same with a closure look.

Express Entry Half yearly records in 2021

Until June 30, 2021, the IRCC has invited record 88,715 candidates, smashing the previous half-yearly record of 51,305 invitations, which was set in 2017. Moreover, the EE system also broke the record for highest second quarter invitations by inviting massive 44,591 express entry candidates to apply for Canadian Permanent Residency (PR) visa. This number is even higher than the first quarter ITAs this year, i.e. 44,124.

Highest number of ITAs and lowest CRS score

Another much talked about record this year was the record for issuing highest number of ITAs (Invitations to apply) and lowest CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) score ever in any draw. It was the 13th February 2021 draw, which created this massive record, which seems hard to bean in near future.

In this draw, the IRCC invited record 27,332 candidates with lowest ever Cut off, i.e. just 75 CRS points. The ITAs issued in first six months this year are by far the highest in any year.

Express Entry draw results in next six months

Now after seeing several unusual patterns and records in first six months, the Express Entry are eager to know the EE draw results in next six months of the year.

As of now, the Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has not opened any all-program draw, rather it mostly chose to invite the express entry candidates, who are already there in Canada through its Canadian Experience Class (CEC) category draws. Hence, the Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) category candidates desperately want to see a draw happening for their category. However, how strong are the possibilities for the same?

Good signs from IRCC

The IRCC has shown some positive signals in last few weeks, which may give confidence to FSW category candidates.

  • Recently, the Canadian government has announced that holders of confirmed COPR (Confirmation of Permanent Residence) can travel to Canada with effect from June 21, 2021. However, the government has extended the ban on the flights from India until July 21, 2021. Hence, we will have to wait for next few weeks to find out any positive news regarding the same.
  • The IRCC has also lifted the quarantine requirement for those exempt category candidates, who are fully vaccinated with a vaccine approved in Canada.
  • Vaccination in Canada is at peak as over 75 percent of Canadian population is partially vaccinated and the government is likely to achieve its target of 75 percent fully vaccinated population in next few weeks only.

Hence, considering all these positive signals and indications from the government of Canada, experts are hopeful that the IRCC may restore the all-program Express Entry draws in next few months.

Thus, it is the right time to apply for Canadian Permanent Residency (PR) Visa with easing travel restrictions and immigration process from the government of Canada.
