Canada may open the doors to fully vaccinated Travellers from all Countries in September 2021

The Canadian government may open the Borders for the fully vaccinated travellers from all parts of the world in September first week. A readout from Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s office has indicated this possibility post the meeting of the Prime Minister with all Provincial and territorial premiers to discuss their shared response to the global COVID-19 pandemic.

On July 15, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs Dominic LeBlanc conducted the 33rd call with Canada’s provincial and territorial premiers to discuss their shared response to the global COVID-19 pandemic. The PM discussed the Covid-19, situation in the country, and expressed the pleasure seeing that the case numbers and severe illness cases continue to decline across the country, while the vaccination rates continue to rise.

The Prime Minister briefed the participants, stating how Canada continues to lead G20 nations in vaccination rates with nearly80 per cent of eligible Canadian population vaccinated with their first dose and more than 50 per cent of eligible Canadians fully vaccinated.

He further thanked the premiers for their efforts in speeding up vaccinations across the country and encouraged collective momentum to make certain that as many people as possible are fully vaccinated, looking at the variants active in some countries.

The government is positive about opening the borders in next few weeks

The Canadian PM stated that, if Canada’s current positive path of vaccination rate and public health conditions continue, the government would be in a position to welcome fully vaccinated travellers from all nations by early September.

He also briefed about the ongoing discussions with the United States on reopening plans, and indicated that Canada could may begin allowing fully vaccinated U.S. citizens and permanent residents into Canada most probably by mid-August for non-essential travel. He also indicated that ministers would reveal more details on these plans early next week.
