Canada immigration Rule Changes and Updates applicable in 2022

Canada immigration Rules and updates- 2022

Here is the list of rules and updates applicable this year:

  • New Regulator for Canadian immigration

The CICC (College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants) is now the new regulator for immigration consultant in Canada. It has replaced the ICCRC (Immigration Consultants of Canada Regulatory Council) as the official regulator for immigration and citizenship consultants across Canada from November 23, 2021.

  • Saskatchewan launched new EOI pool

The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) has launched a new Expression of Interest (EOI) pool to help join healthcare workers with healthcare sector employers in the province of Saskatchewan offering the relevant Job opportunities. 

  • Canada Latest Travel update 

With effect from 30 November 2021 Canadian citizens/permanent residents or individuals with the right of entry, qualify as fully vaccinated travellers, who re-enter Canada within 72 hours of leaving, do not need to provide a pre-entry molecular test result.

  • Canada approved 3 new Covid-19 Vaccines

Moreover, Canada has included three new WHO approved Covid-19 vaccines in the list of approved vaccines from November 30, 2021:

  • Bharat Biotech (Covaxin, BBV152 A, B, C)
  • Sinopharm (Beijing) BBIBP-CorV (Vero Cells)
  • Sinovac (CoronaVac, PiCoVacc)
  • The IRCC to apply New NOC System in 2022 

Recently the immigration department of Canada has announced that it will make amendment inthe current NOC (National Occupational Classification)system of Canada. It will replace existing NOC classification of Skill type 0, A, B and redefine it as new TEER system 0 to 5. This change is likely to take place in November 2022.

  • Canada ResumedDirect Flights to and from India w.e.f. 27 September 

Canadian government lifted the ban on direct flights to and from India. In a press release September 2021, the Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has announced that it is resuming the direct flights to and from India with effect from September 27, 2021.
