On July 19, 2021, British Columbia announced a halt in the new registration intake under BC PNP Entrepreneur Immigration - Base Category. However, the pause is temporary, and the base category is most likely to resume early in 2022.
A temporary suspension has been put in place to help B.C. evaluate whether the program is meeting the current provincial needs or not.
In a release issued, the province said, “Given the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on B.C.’s economy, the temporary pause allows us to review the E.I. – Base category to ensure it continues to meet its objectives to support government priorities and economic recovery, and prepare prospective applicants for the greatest chance of success.”
However, this temporary pause will not affect those who have already submitted their application or registration. Therefore, those candidates will remain active, and their application processing will occur as per the procedure.
The registration pause does not apply to the following BC PNP categories:
