Australia- Migration Queensland Program is now open for FY 2022-23

The Migration Queensland (MQ) Program is now open from 16 August 2022 with Queensland’s new nomination criteria. The MQ will only accept a brand new Expression of Interest (EOI) submitted on Skillselect from the 16 August 2022.

Updating or altering an existing EOI’s submitted before 16 August 2022 will not get the ITA (Invitation to Apply). Find out more about the MQ update.

Migration Queensland Program- 2022-23

You need to cautiously read and comprehend the new parameters and requirements relevant to your stream or pathway, and that you fulfil criteria before submitting an Expression of Interest (EOI).

For the financial year 2022-23, the skilled Migration Program will be open to both onshore and offshore candidates to offer pathways for skilled workers, graduates, and small business owners.

Business Migration Program 

The Department of Home Affairs, Australia has allocated Migration Queensland a limited interim nomination allocation for the business program.

The business program will continue to be open to following business migration streams, i.e.

• The 188 – Business Innovation stream,
• The 188 – Investor stream and
• The 188 – Significant Investor stream.

A new 188 – Entrepreneur stream will also open on 16 August.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for a Queensland nomination, you need to fulfil both the Australian DHA criteria and Migration Queensland criteria for your selected visa category.

Home Affairs requires you to:

• 65 or higher points on SkillSelect, inclusive of state nomination points;
• have a positive skills assessment in your nominated occupation;
• be under 45 years of age;
• Fulfil the minimum English language requirement of capable, unless a higher level is required by your assessing authority; 
• And submit extra documents, if invited to lodge an application for a 190 or 491 visa.

Migration Queensland criteria needs you to:

• have a points-test result of 80 or higher for the 190 (unless otherwise specified), and 65 or higher for the 491
• have an occupation on the Offshore Queensland Skilled Occupation List (QSOL)

• have Proficient English or higher (except where otherwise specified)
• have at least 3-years of post-study work experience (except where otherwise specified)

The applicants with highest points per occupation will get the ITA (Invitation to Apply) and the same is likely to vary for each occupation.
