Changes to Australia's immigration point table
With effect from July 1st 2018, the General Skilled Migration (GSM) minimum point requirement will be 65 points. Earlier, minimum points' requirement to apply for a GSM visa was 60 points. Until June 30, 2018 the applicants can apply with the same points' requirement, i.e. 60 points.
However, from very next day, i.e. from 1st July onwards an applicant will need at least 65 points to enter in the GSM Immigration point system of Australia.
Which are the key Visa Categories impacted by this change
The General Skilled Migration (GSM) Program has below three Key visa categories, i.e.
All the above visas are point tested visas. Hence, an applicant applying for any of the above visas with effect from 1st July, 2018, would require minimum 65 points based on their key profile factors, i.e. age, education, language ability, work experience, etc. The first two visas are Permanent Residence (PR) Visas, while the third one is temporary visa allocated for 4 years.
