In a crucial announcement, Australian government has increased its minimum immigration point requirement by 5 points with effect from 1st July, 2018.
Australian government has made vital changes to its point based immigration system. The changes have been made in to the minimum or cut off marks limit of Australia's General Skilled Migration (GSM) Program. The changes will take effect from July 1, 2018. Let's take a look at this crucial change in Australia's immigration points table.
Changes to Australia's immigration point table
With effect from July 1st 2018, the General Skilled Migration (GSM) minimum point requirement will be 65 points. Earlier, minimum points' requirement to apply for a GSM visa was 60 points. Until June 30, 2018 the applicants can apply with the same points' requirement, i.e. 60 points.
However, from very next day, i.e. from 1st July onwards an applicant will need at least 65 points to enter in the GSM Immigration point system of Australia.
Which are the key Visa Categories impacted by this change
The General Skilled Migration (GSM) Program has below three Key visa categories, i.e.
All the above visas are point tested visas. Hence, an applicant applying for any of the above visas with effect from 1st July, 2018, would require minimum 65 points based on their key profile factors, i.e. age, education, language ability, work experience, etc. The first two visas are Permanent Residence (PR) Visas, while the third one is temporary visa allocated for 4 years. Every year, a huge number of skilled workers and professionals from all over the world, apply for the above visa categories

We spoke with various agencies and consultants before we zeroed down on Visas Avenue for Australian PR application solely because of their depth of knowledge in the area during the initial conversation and "no-marketing" approach. They meant business from day one and Anikta who was our relationship manager ensured that we get adequate support from the start. The best part was having Kirti as our case officer who not only made sure that our application and documents were in perfect order but also went extra mile to work on our application post regular office hours. She was always available to answer our queries despite her busy schedule and patiently addressed all our concerns with a smile on her face. We felt very comfortable working with her and she also took special care to ensure we're getting regular updates on our application. Her diligence was evident as there were no follow ups from the immigration department and everything was in perfect order. Thank you for being such a great partner in our journey!
I approached Visas Avenue for my Canadian PR after a lot of research. I'm happy with my decision in choosing Visas Avenue. The overall experience was very satisfying. I sincerely thank my case manager, Ms. Vagisha Malhotra , for her prompt response and assistance throughout the process and for handling my application so very well. Thank you Ms Vagisha for all your help, instructions and advice that was best for my application. All my queries were handled very patiently and the follow-up was very good.I would be happy to recommend the services of Visas Avenue for a Canadian PR visa. Thank you!!
I took a leap of faith when I decided to go with Visas Avenue in November 2016, 1st because I never heard of it from anyone I know and 2nd it s office is in Delhi (Remote for me as I was in Nagpur). But eventually it paid off in July 2017.I got my PR for Canada in 8 Months :-). It was really a wonderful journey with them, especially Namrata & Kanika. Namrata helped me in initial days with confusion between Australia and Canada and many other profile specific queries and has been a great support always. and Kanika was my Case manager, she helped with my profile, documents, the process and many many other things. I was a bit worried since I changed my job after the ITA but Kanika always helped me getting the proper required documents and assured that things will go smoothly; I really appreciate your support Kanika. Though I have never met anyone from the Visas Avenue in person and didn t even visit their office, still they handled everything perfectly and were always helpful via phone and email. I never got a proper chance to thank you both due to the PR excitement, A big thanks to both of you Kanika and Namrata.
There are consultants and then there is Visas Avenue! They listen, they act, they perform and they execute!Erin, my case manager, is an epitome of CRM skills, knowledge and motivation. The way she nurtured the case and took a personal interest towards attaining the desired result is indeed worthy of every appreciation on this planet. Thank you! And 5 stars for you. I'm glad to have associated with you and would really look forward to keep this association going in the future too. Please find a way to that.Overall, I've had a wonderful experience with the organization. Thanks guys! Just a little more focus and flexibility towards managing client relations at every step and in every function would make the firm shinier.
I want you to know how much I appreciate the excellent service you provided on my PR application. Your attention to detail, great communication skills, and expert advice on documentation made my experience even better than I expected. Your advice on language of job experience letters, selection of accurate NOC codes was exceptional. During last 12 months, whenever I reached to your team for help on any tiny or large step, my queries got adhered to within stipulated time – this also signifies your immense professionalism. You knew all the procedural steps with immigration authorities really well and because of your tutelage, my visa was granted in about 25 days after filing the application. I won't hesitate to refer my friends to your establishment, and I will especially request visa avenue management that my referrals gets assistance from same team which assisted in my visa application. Visa applicants - if you are looking to settle in a different country - your chances of achieving a visa and future will heavily depend on how knowledgeable and professional your consultant is, in my humble opinion, you can definitely trust Visas Avenue.
We have been recently granted our 189 Skilled Visa. Thank you so much Visa Avenues for getting our Golden Email. I decided to go via Visa Avenue for the migration process for Australia based on all the wonderful review from one of my friend who is already well settled in Sydney, Australia - having now received my Visa 7 months later I can happily say they are all accurate.I greatly admire the professionalism, honesty and genuine friendly manner. Their help throughout gave me a great deal of peace of mind and allowed me to get on with other things in my life, whilst knowing the whole Visa Process was ticking along nicely. Excellent service, always available to discuss visa application via phone or email. We just wanted to say a BIG THANK YOU to Shivangi Arora my case agent for all her help. She was always available, helpful, quick to respond to emails (often within an hour or so), thoroughly good at her job and an altogether nice person.I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Visa Avenue to anyone considering going through this process. It's worth every penny of the fee!!Many thanks for all that you have done
Visas Avenue is certainly one of the best companies which would help us in getting a Visa and is very transparent in nature. I got my Aus PR in close to 7 months as promised and at no stage, I was disappointed. I got to deal with "Jyotsana" from Hyderabad and my case was given to "Shivangi" from Delhi and I am glad that Shivangi worked on my case and she was thorough professional to say the least. Shivangi was sending me timely updates on my PR status and at no point, I felt insecure or disappointed and I knew my Visa application is in safe hands. I cannot thank Visas Avenue and especially "Shivangi Arora" enough for helping me get my PR. You are the best. I encourage people to choose Visas Avenue mainly because they have professionals like "Shivangi Arora" for their VISA dreams to see it come true.
