Alberta PNP update- Find out the new name and streams of AINP

Canadian province Alberta has changed the name of its PNP, i.e. Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) on February 16, 2022. The new name of AINP is Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP). The AAIP also implemented some more changes on this day, including the launch of two new immigration streams. However, no change made to the eligibility criteria of the program. Alberta PNP New Changes and Updates announced

Alberta has announced a few key changes to AAIP on 16 February 2022, however, did not make any changes in the Program eligibility criteria. Find below the list of these changes.

Two New Streams of AAIP

The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) has launched two new immigration streams, i.e.

• Rural Renewal Stream: This stream is for the applicants, who have a job offer from Alberta to work in a designated rural Alberta community. You can apply for Alberta nomination under this stream, if you fall under this category and meet the requirements. 

• The Rural Entrepreneur Stream: This particular stream is for Entrepreneurs, who are willing to start a business or buy an existing business in a rural Alberta community. You can submit an EOI under this stream, if you fall under this category and meet the criteria.

More Changes Announced in Alberta PNP

Find below the list of changes announced in AAIP from 16 February:

• Alberta has changed the name of three Entrepreneur streams, i.e.

• • The International Graduate Entrepreneur Immigration Stream is now the Graduate Entrepreneur Stream
  • The Foreign Graduate Start-Up Visa Stream is now the Foreign Graduate Entrepreneur Stream.
  • The Self-Employed Farmer Stream is now the Farm Stream.

• Nomination extension: The applicants, who submitted their application using Alberta PNP online portal, must now request a nomination extension in the portal.

The eligibility criteria of Alberta PNP has not changed for any of the existing streams and pathways. All other post-decision processes are also unchanged. The Alberta will reveal more details about the new streams in next few weeks.

At now Express Entry, linked stream of Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) is one of the easiest PNP streams to apply for provincial nomination for Permanent Resident (PR) Visa.
