ACT invitation round on 25 February- Canberra invites 122 candidates in latest

The new ACT (Australian Capital Territory) invitation round opened on 25 February 2022. In this round, Canberra- the capital city of Australia invited 122 candidates to apply for state nomination for key visa categories, i.e. Skilled Nominated Visa Subclass 190 and Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) Visa Subclass 491. The ACT has invited the highest ranked Matrix in each occupation group to apply for nomination.  The cut?off for selection is based on some key factors, i.e.

• date and time of Matrix submission,
• occupation cap and
• demand 

The greater the demand, the higher the rank of the invited Matrix score.

Here are the details of the latest ACT invitation round:

• Small Business Owners- No invitation issued in this round, under Small Business Owner category.
• 457 / 482 visa holders- The visa holders under this category received just one invitation for Subclass 190 visa.
• Critical Skill Occupations – The ACT issued total 59 invitations under this category.

• Overseas Applicants (Critical Skill Occupations) – overseas candidates received 6 invitations to apply for state nomination for Subclass 190 visa. Moreover, 56 candidates received nomination invitation for Subclass 491 visa. Total 62 overseas applicants received invitation this time around.

Approvals as on 1st Feb:  1174 nomination places

• ACT 491 nomination: 822 approvals  
• ACT 190 nomination: 352 approvals 

Remaining allocations:  826 nomination places

• ACT 491 nomination: 578 places (pro rata 116 per month)
• ACT 190 nomination: 248 places (pro rata 50 per month)
