World Education Service (WES) is a non-profit organization which is dedicated towards helping professionals and international students meet their professional and educational goals in Canada and the United States. The organization assesses and advocates for the recognition of international education qualifications.
For any perspective Canada immigration applicant, an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) is a must to apply to certain programs under Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada. Thus, the IRCC has designated World Education Services (WES) to provide ECAs for all the degrees and diplomas they have earned outside of Canada.
Let’s explore about WES Canada fee and services, ECA validity period and more.
The WES evaluation is broadly recognized by more than 25,000 businesses, educational institutions and government bodies across the U.S. and Canada. The WES performs credential assessment of academic accomplishments to the standards in Canada. The ECA report generated by WES helps the institutions like employers, schools, and immigration authorities better understand an applicant’s educational background.
Please note, a report from WES identifies and describes credentials and verify them for authenticity.
For most of the people, the fees for an ECA report cost is approximately $200 CAN plus the delivery fees, additional fees, or a 13% Harmonized Sales Tax. The delivery costs generally depends up on how an applicant choose the report to be sent, as a courier delivery is a bit on expensive side.
Moreover, if a person is a specialist physician, or a pharmacist, then the cost is again a bit higher.
There is an additional fees charges that a person must pay along with the WES evaluation cost, including:
*Please note, all the fees are subject to change at the discretion of designated authority.
An Express Entry profile is valid for a maximum 1 year period from the date an applicant submits a profile to the IRCC. If an application is not approved and an individual fails to obtain an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canada PR after an year and still want to continue, then he/she needs to complete and submit a new Express Entry profile.
In such circumstances, an applicant can continue using the ECA report while submitting a new Express Entry profile under IRCC for Canada PR. Reason being, an ECA provided by WES is valid for 5 years from the date of issuance.
An applicant’ international degree or diplomas are generally evaluated by the WES within 35 business days after receiving, reviewing, and approving all documents, and WES fees payment done in full.
If you’re applying under Express Entry’s Federal Skilled Worker Program, then you need an ECA before submitting to the pool. While, in case of Federal Skilled Trades Program and Canadian Experience Class, you don’t need an ECA report to submit to the pool, but you need one in order to claim any CRS points for your overseas education.
If you are not a Doctor or a Pharmacist, Visas Avenue usually recommend you to use World Education Services (WES) for ECA as WES has the most proficient processing time. Right from updating you about the stepwise ECA application submission process and cost for WES evaluation, we’ll guide you through the entire process in detail.
