Predictions for the Next Ontario PNP Draw in 2024

The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) regularly issues Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to eligible candidates every two weeks, with occasional exceptions. The frequency, size, and timing of the next draw are determined by the current needs of the OINP application pool.

Ontario, Canada's leading economic hub, offers a multitude of opportunities for immigrants seeking to study, work, and obtain permanent residency (PR). The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) stands out as a crucial pathway for economic immigration in Canada.

Established in 2007 to address labour market shortages across various industries, the OINP continues to play a vital role in attracting skilled professionals to support and bolster Ontario's economy.

Ontario, along with its Provincial Nominee Program (OINP), remains the top choice for immigrants seeking PR in Canada. In 2023, Toronto and Ottawa, two of Ontario's most vibrant cities, welcomed over half of all new Canadian PR holders.

For those considering immigrating to Ontario, there are several pathways to choose from:

OINP Express Entry

  • Human Capital Priorities stream
  • French-Speaking Skilled Worker stream
  • Skilled Trades stream

Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP)

  • Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker stream
  • Employer Job Offer: International Student stream
  • Employer Job Offer: In-Demand Skills stream
  • Masters Graduate stream
  • PhD Graduate stream
  • Entrepreneur stream

Some of the pathways available through the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program consist of base streams, while others fall under enhanced streams. Enhanced streams are those synchronized with the Express Entry Program, a federal immigration initiative managing three primary economic immigration channels in Canada.

Prospective candidates aiming for provincial nomination under the OINP must submit an Expression of Interest (EOI). Their eligibility is determined by their score in the Ontario PNP points calculator and the information provided in the EOI. Those who secure nomination under the enhanced stream automatically receive 600 points in the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), essentially guaranteeing an Invitation to Apply for Canadian PR.

In contrast, base streams are not integrated with the Express Entry system. To immigrate through a base stream, candidates must directly apply to Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

Eligible candidates under the OINP receive Invitations to Apply (ITAs) through draws conducted on a bi-weekly basis, with occasional exceptions.

When will the next Ontario PNP draw take place?

As for the timing of the next Ontario PNP draw, it typically occurs bi-weekly, although the Ontario government does not pre-announce this information. Below are the specifics of the most recent Ontario PNP draw.
