Federal Skilled Workers Program - 2023

The Federal skilled worker Program (FSWP) is one of the best immigration programs to get Canada PR. It is one of the three categories in Canada's Express Entry System, i.e.

  • Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)
  • Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP)
  • Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

The Express Entry is an online point-based immigration system launched by IRCC (Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada) way back in January 2015.

The FSWP under Express Entry provides the pathway to overseas skilled workers to get Canadian Permanent Residency (PR). It's a part of the economic immigration programs of Canada. The skilled workers can apply in Federal Skilled Workers Program to obtain Canadian permanent residency.

The Federal Skilled Worker category of Express Entry system assesses the applicants based on six selection factors and allocate them points accordingly. Once applicants achieve minimum required points, they become eligible to find place in Express Entry pool of candidates and hence, get a CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) Score. The IRCC hold the Express Entry draws periodically to invite the candidates to apply for Canadian Permanent Residency (PR) Visa.

Note: As announced in May 2023, now the Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) is also conducting the category-based Express Entry draws to invite the candidates based on their experience in key occupations or proficiency in French language.

Six FSW Selection Factors and points allocation based on the same

These FSW selection factors are age, education, work experience, language proficiency, adaptability, and employment. The applicants require scoring at least 67 points out of 100 to qualify for the FSW category, based on the selection factors mentioned above factors.
