Canadian government every year invite, assess and select the candidates and subsequently, allocate them Canadian Permanent Residency (PR) Visa. It select the candidates registered in point-based Express Entry System through periodic draws. Apart from other factors, i.e. age, education, language proficiency, a candidate must have experience in one of the occupations listed in Canada Occupation List.
On May 31, 2023, Canadian Immigration Minister, Sean Fraser announced the launch of category-based selection for Express Entry Immigration System of Canada. This selection will be done based on key parameters, such as, candidate’s proficiency in French language or work experience in the one of the selected occupation categories as per Canada New Occupation List 2023. Hence, now, the IRCC will hold three types of Express Entry draws:
Hence, Category-based selection of candidates from Express Entry pool will allow Canada to issue ITAs (Invitations to Apply) for Canadian PR visa to the candidates with particular skills, training or language proficiency.
