Posted - 18, Dec 2015

Canada is the country that always remains in the news in view of its high immigration rate, lenient immigration policies, skill shortage in the country and its humanitarian stand on the refugee crisis. Apart from this, there is one more reason added to the list for Canada being in news for immigration, i.e. the newly elected Liberal Government. After the new Trudeau Government has taken charge in Canada, the possibilities of huge immigrant influx in Canada have raised significantly. Considerable Upsurge is expected in Immigration to Canada in 2016

The immigration figures in the year 2016 are expected to rise significantly, in view of various reasons. Let’s find out what’s there for the Canadian Immigration Applicants in 2016:

  • A likely upsurge in the Express Entry ITA’s: The ITA (invitation to apply) for the Canadian PR is being sent to the candidates achieving the qualifying marks in the Express Entry System. As per the recent announcement from a CIC policy analyst, the number of invitations is likely to increase in the coming EE draws, as a result of a fall in CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) Score requirement. The CRS score requirements are the qualifying marks, which an applicant needs to secure if he wish to get the ITA.
  • Positives to take from 22nd Express Entry Draw: the latest express entry draw no.22 has seen the significant drop of 11 points in the qualifying marks as compared to the previous draw. This downfall in qualifying marks is evident from last few draws, as the CRS score requirement dropped from 489 to 461 points (in the latest 22nd draw of Express entry). This might encourage lots of applicants waiting to receive an ITA.
  • Various PNPs to reopen in 2016: In view of growing demand for skilled workers and low population growth, several PNPs (Provincial Nominee Programs) to reopen in the year 2016, which consequently will enhance the immigration in the country considerably.
  • QSWP online Application Intake to begin on January 18, 2016: the second intake of QSWP (Quebec Skilled Worker Program) to begin on January 18, 2016 to invite the online application from the candidates. In the online cycle of QSWP, a total of 2800 applications will be accepted.
In view of all the above factors, it’s the high time for the Canadian Immigration Applicants to get their files ready for the year 2016, as it will be a great opportunity for immigration to Canada.
