visas default image Finally, we are in to the last month of the year and the upcoming express entry draw is possibly be the last EE draw of 2019. This draw being last one of the year, experts and applicants are expecting the IRCC (Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada) to make some relaxations in the cut off or CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) requirement. Let's find out how the EE draws have been this year and what is expected in the upcoming draw.

Express entry draw trend this year

The CRS score requirement or cut off is announced by the IRCC for every express entry draw and applicants meeting or exceeding this mark get the Invitation to apply for Canadian permanent residency visa from IRCC. The CRS trend begin moderately in the beginning of the year, with a cut off of 449 points.   It went as low as 438 points in the same January month, which is still the lowest CRS score requirement this year. The qualifying marks for ITA remained close to 450 mark in the mid of the year. However, in the second half of the year, it gradually went up to 460s and now it is in 470s for last 4 draws. The surprising factor is the number of Invitations to apply. Despite the consistent rise in the qualifying marks, IRCC is able to invite the more than 3,000 candidates consistently in every EE draw.

What are the chances of drop in cut off?

As on December 11, 2019, more than 16,000 candidates in express entry pool had the CRS score between 451 and 600 points. This clearly means, that there must be at least 5,000 candidates with a CRS score of 460s and 470s, hence, expecting a huge drop in CRS in next couple of draws will be an exaggeration, though, a minor drop can be expected.
