Visas Avenue Bangalore and Hyderabad Branch will Remain Closed on 13th April on account of Ugadi Festival

The Bengaluru (Bangalore) and Hyderabad branch of Visas Avenue Pvt. Ltd. will remain closed on April 13, 2021 on account of Ugadi/Gudi Padwa Festival. Rest all Visas Avenue branches will be working as per the existing system of operations.

The 13th April is a special day across India as it is also the first day as per Hindu calendar. People celebrate this festival with different names and customs across India, i.e. Ugadi in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Gudi Padwa in Maharashtra and Goa and Baisakhi in Punjab and other northern parts of the country.

Ugadi

Ugadi is the New Year's Day in the few of the South Indian states, i.e. Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Hence, it is celebrated as a festival in these regions being the first day of the Hindu lunisolar calendar month of Chaitra. Ugadi falls in April month every year.

On this day, the people draw colourful patterns on the floor called Muggulu (Rangoli) and mango leaf decorations on doors called torana. On this auspicious day, people visit temples, buy and give gifts to others, such as new clothes, charity to the poor, etc.

Gudi Padwa

This day is celebrated as Gudi Padwa festival in Maharashtra. The Gudi Padwa is a springtime festival celebrated in and near Maharashtra and Goa on the first day of the Chaitra month (as per lunisolar Hindu calendar). It marks the traditional New Year for Marathi and Konkani Hindus.

Baisakhi

The first day of the month of Vaisakha is also celebrated in North India on 13 or 14 April every year as Vaisakhi.

Vaisakhi or Baisakhi is a Harvest festival observed by Hindus and Sikhs. It also marks the start of Hindu solar New Year. It is a historical and religious festival, which is celebrated by people wearing colourful clothes and features energetic dance, food and music.

Visas Avenue team wishes you all a very happy and prosperous Ugadi/Gudi Padwa/Baisakhi Festival!
