Third Express Entry Draw of the year- Will IRCC open an All-Program draw this time around

By Rajneesh Kumar Posted 13, Jan 2021

abc The first two express entry draws held this year on 6 and 7 January were the program-specific draws, and hence, these draw invited the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) and Canadian Experience Class (CEC) category candidates only.

Now, the express entry candidates under the general or Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) category are eagerly waiting for a regular all-program draw, which invites the FSW category candidates as well. The other key concern of the applicants is the CRS score requirement as they expect the fall in the same in the draws to come.

Will the next draw be an all-program EE draw?

The Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) opened the regular program-specific draws last year given the pandemic-caused situation. However, now, the situation is heading towards normalcy and hence, we may see the regular draws of the Express Entry System happening regularly.

Hence, the next draw will possibly be an all-program draw, unless the Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) do not plan to hold FST category. The FST is one EE category, apart from the Federal Skilled Worker (FSW), for which the IRCC had not held any draw so far in this year.

What will the CRS score requirement in the upcoming draw?

The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score requirement in the last all-program draw (held on 23 December 2020) was 468 points. As per the Express Entry pool status on January 4, 2021, there are 10,664 candidates with a CRS score range of 461-470. Hence, if IRCC opens an all-program draw this time around, the cut-off is likely to be in this range.

How to get a Canada PR invitation even with a low CRS score?

If you are FSW category candidate, but your CRS score is not high enough compared to the ongoing demand from Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), you can apply for a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) to get a provincial nominee certificate.

The PNP nomination is obtained through the Express Entry stream of a PNP; you become eligible to get 600 additional CRS points in your express entry account.
