The latest DIBP report has suggested key changes in the Immigration Program of Australia

The DIBP (Department of Immigration and Border Protection) of Australia has introduced key changes in the Australia immigration program in their latest report. The official document sent to the Legal and Constitutional Affairs Legislation Committee, the DIBP chief, and the border force have summarized their new business model and indicated the changes as well.

Emphasis on Visa Reforms

The report emphasized on the visa reforms in order to take steps for the intricacy of the in existing visa system and renew and develop the business practices for growth and development of the program in future.

SSVF Features

The document presented in this regard contains the description of latest programs including the SSVF (Simplified Student Visa Framework) first introduced in July, 2016. The SSVF has been designed to make the student visa program of Australia globally competitive. It makes the application procedure relatively simpler for the legitimate international students, strengthens the immigration integrity, etc.

New Entrepreneur Visa & Skilled Migration Implications

The report also include the features of new entrepreneur visa introduced in the month of September and describes the changes in point test for the skilled migrations by the end of this year, i.e. 2016. A few new tourist visas will also get implemented soon.

The latest immigration program also contains the hassle free visa program for the Chinese visitors along with a 10 year visa with frequent entry permissions and 3 month stay. The cost of this latest visa will be $1,000 and its likely to be launched on pilot basis.

Successful Completion of SmartGates

The launch of departure SmartGates has been completed quite successfully. In the process, 86 have already been installed. Till the October first week close to 12 million passengers got self processed through these SmartGates.

All the passengers are able to process through the SmartGates irrespective of the fact whether they have the ePassport or their nationality status. This news system reinforces the capability of detecting the false travelers via biometrics and enhanced passenger facilitation etc. It also allows the ABF officers to concentrate on the review activities.
