South Australia has announced key changes to its State Nomination Requirements

The Immigration South Australia has introduced a few key changes to its State Nomination policy and requirement. These changes have come together with the introduction of new Regional Visa Subclass 491 and changes in the immigration point system of Australia. The Immigration SA has assessed and revised the state nomination requirements, which are there at now and along with the ones that needs to be employed.

Immigration SA -State nomination Changes

The Immigration Department of South Australia has implemented few key changes in the

  3. The application fee has been increased by 10% for all state nomination applications from December 4, 2019

  1. Points requirement Changes for specific occupations and categories

A. Related to Occupations

In view of the recent changes in Australia's Immigration point system, Immigration South Australia has revised the point's requirement for all the occupations listed in the State Nominated Occupation Lists of SA. The English as well as the work experience requirements have also been changed for certain occupations in the list.

Several occupations now need either 75 or 85 points (including state nomination points) on the point's assessment grid. You may check the SNOL (State Nomination Occupation List) for details. Most of the trade occupations still only needs to have 65 points on the point's assessment.

B. High Points category

The high point's category offers a skilled migration pathway to high capacity applicants by providing them admittance to special conditions and Supplementary Skilled List occupations.

Applicants under the high point’s category are now need to have 95 points (including state nomination points) on the point's grid.

C. Chain Migration category

Chain migration provides a provisional 491 visa pathway for skilled migrants to join family members already living in South Australia on PR Visa.

The point's requirement has now been raised for the chain migration category, with applicants now requiring 75 points (including state nomination points) on the points test. Although, a few managerial occupations on the SNOL require 85 points, chain migration applicants will also need to have the 85 points required for these occupations.

  1. Changes announced in the requirements to access state nomination for Subclass 190 (Permanent) visa

Certain occupations on the State Nominated Occupation Lists (SNOL) are listed as "Provisional 491 visa only" and hence, the Nomination for the 190 visa is not available for these occupations. The majority of these occupations on the Regional Occupation List (ROL).

The remaining occupations are listed as: Provisional 491 visa only - 190 nomination offered to applicants under specific circumstances only and the parameters below applies to applicants willing to apply for nomination for the 190 visa. In view of the limited number places remaining for the permanent 190 visa, extra eligibility parameters will now apply.

  1. The application fee has been changed for all state nomination applications
The application fee has been raised by 10% for all South Australian state nomination applications. The increase in the fees applies to all applications from 4 December 2019.
