Saskatchewan PNP has removed the Maximum limit for accepting applications

visas default image Saskatchewan province in Canada has removed the maximum or upper limit for key immigration streams of SINP (Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program) with effect from March 3, 2020. Earlier, the Saskatchewan used to publish the maximum limit of the applications it will accept for a particular stream in a year, however, the page indicating the same has now been removed from its official website.

No Upper Limit for SINP keys streams

Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) is a popular provincial program of Canada that invites significant number of candidates for provincial nomination via its recently introduced EOI (Expression of Interest) based system. As per the new update, there won't be any limit now especially for popular subcategories under SINP-International Skilled Worker Stream, i.e.
  • ISW- Express Entry Subcategory and
  • ISW- Occupation in Demand (OID) subcategory

What was upper limit, which has been revoked now?

Saskatchewan used to announce thresholds for application intake via the program, i.e. the upper limit of the number of applications it may accept in a year. The number of vacancies remaining under the limit were also used to get updated for the following SINP streams:
  • Saskatchewan experience
  • Students
  • International skilled workers with an employment offer
  • Hospitality workers
  • Entrepreneur farm owner
  • Long haul truck drivers
  • Existing work permits and health professionals
However, as per SINP, from March 3, 2020 the application threshold will no longer be used for accepting new applications, except for Farm Owner and Operator category.

Through SINP, province of Saskatchewan invite, evaluate and subsequently, nominate thousands of suitable candidates for Canadian permanent residency every year. This year, the SINP has opened 4 draws and invited total 1,764 candidates to apply for provincial nomination.

In the most recent SINP draw, Saskatchewan issued 576 invitations to apply to express entry and OID subcategory candidates with minimum point score requirement being 69 points for both subcategories. Take a look.
