The CPSU (Community and Public Sector Union) has issued a notice of work stoppages at various Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) work areas, in different states. This has been announced in view of employees of DIBP (Department of Immigration and Border Protection) of Australia, who are the member of CPSU going to partake in protected industrial action w.e.f. September 26, 2016 across several work sites in the country.
Which DIBP Work areas are likely to be affected due to stoppage?
The stoppage will affect the DIBP work areas, i.e. client service centers, international airports, container examination facilities, international mail facilities, ports, etc.
As per DIBP, they have employed the emergency arrangement in order to reduce the larger impact of stoppage on the essential business operations. The DIBP has issued the statement on their website that they are coordinating with the stakeholders in order to reduce the impact on the public travel, mail operations and cargo services, etc.
Passengers of International flights are advised to reach airports early
The DIBP is making certain that the relevant measures are taken for the citizenship services. At the same time, the passengers departing through international flights are advised to reach the airports well before the time, as the delay is expected in the boarding process.
The Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) wants to ensure the safety and security of public and staff during the protected industrial action and hence, appropriate steps are being taken regarding the same.
