Saskatchewan recently created a buzz among the Canada PR applicants, when it introduced the EOI (Expression of Interest) system for its popular PNP, i.e. Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP). Saskatchewan government implemented the Expression of Interest system for its Occupation in Demand (OID) and Express Entry subcategories under w.e.f. 16th July 2018. Now, the provincial government has revealed the details about EOI based draws of SINP.

SINP- EOI based draw schedule

The interested applicants are free to submit EOI for the OID and express entry subcategories (under International Skilled Worker stream) of Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP). The province will review the applications gathered in Expression of Interest pool and subsequently invite the top ranking profiles through periodic SINP draws. The first two SINP Draws will be held on September 19 and November 21, 2018.

How to submit EOI to get selected in upcoming draws?

If you are a skilled worker outside Canada, willing to be selected in the upcoming SINP draws, you need to create your profile in Saskatchewan's online application system, OASIS, and submit EOI (Expression of Interest) for OID or Express Entry Subcategory of SINP. While registering the profile, you will have to mention key details with regards to your qualification, work experience, language skills, etc. Accordingly, you will get a point score, which must be minimum 60 out of 100.

The successful applicants under both subcategories of SINP, shall receive invitation to apply for provincial nomination from the province of Saskatchewan. If you apply and get selected for provincial nomination, it will open the doors for obtaining Canada PR for you.

How Provincial nomination benefit the applicants under OID & express entry stream

If you have got the provincial nomination through express entry stream of SINP, you will get 600 additional CRS points in federal express entry system, which will make certain that you get Invitation to apply for Canadian permanent residency from IRCC (Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada) in the subsequent draw of Express Entry.

On the other hand, the applicants receiving the provincial nomination under Occupation in Demand subcategory become eligible to apply for PR directly to IRCC. However, for both streams of SINP, you need to demonstrate the experience in the in demand occupations of Saskatchewan province, listed in SINP in Demand Occupation list.

Selection process in EOI pool

The SINP will follow the below steps to invite the applicants from EOI pool:

  • Find candidates in EOI Pool with the highest point score.
  • In case of candidates with equal scores, the SINP will give preference to the candidates with connections to the Saskatchewan, such as, candidates who got points for having a close family relative in Saskatchewan, past work experience in Saskatchewan, and/or past study experience in Saskatchewan.
  • Saskatchewan will now classify candidates with the most work experience years declared and the highest language scores obtained.
