Ontario PNP Invites IT Professionals from Express Entry pool in the 1st HCP stream Draw of 2020

visas default image Ontario has opened the first HCP (Human Capital Priorities) stream draw of OINP (Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program) on January 15, 2020. This was the targeted draw of OINP that has issued 954 invitations to those Express entry candidate, who had the work experience in an IT occupations.

This was the first HCP targeted draw of Ontario PNP this year. The HCP stream is aligned with Federal Express Entry system of Canada, which allows the province of Ontario to select and send the NOIs(Notifications of Interest)to the suitable candidates in express entry pool.

Latest HCP Stream draw of OINP

In the latest targeted tech draw of OINP(opened on 15th January), total 954 express entry candidates, with tech experience,received the NOI (Notification of Interest). All invited applicants had the CRS score ranging between 460 and 472.

The previous OINP draw occurred on9th January 2020, was for the French Speaking Skilled Worker Stream, which invited total 242 express entry candidates.

List of targeted Occupations (NOC codes)

The candidates with work experience in below occupations were targeted in the latest OINP-HCP stream draw. The Occupations have been mentioned along with their NOC (National Occupational Classification) codes.
  • Software engineers and designers (NOC 2173)
  • Computer programmers and interactive media developers (NOC 2174)
  • Computer engineers (NOC 2147)
  • Web designers and developers (NOC 2175)
  • Database analysts and data administrators (NOC 2172)
  • Computer and information systems managers (NOC 0213)

Find out the criteria of Ontario's targeted tech draw

The Ontario PNP will explore the Express Entry pool to select the candidates who may:
  • fulfil the criteria of the Human Capital Priorities Stream
  • have work experience in one of the targeted Occupations (NOC codes)
The candidates, who are selected from the EE pool, get the Notification of Interest (NOI) in their respective IRCC online account. However getting an NOI does not essentially mean that you qualify any of the OINP streams. You also need to check the guidelines of the OINP program/stream and accordingly apply for the provincial nomination. Once you have received the NOI, you need to submit an online application to the Ontario PNP, after confirming that you qualify under one of Ontario's Express Entry streams. You require submitting your application within 45 calendar days of receiving your Notification of Interest.

The OINP will assess your application and subsequently, take a decision regarding issuing the nomination certificate in your name.
