One of the key Canadian provinces, i.e. Nova Scotia welcomed record number of immigrants (close to 5,550) in the year 2016 compared to any other year in last 60-70 years. The figure is officially confirmed by Immigration Minister Lena Diab in her address to Nova Scotia house of Assembly.

Immigration Minister Lena Diab expressed joy and satisfaction on last year’s immigration statistics. Speaking about the same she said, that immigration plays a key role in development and growth of the economy of province. As per her, immigration is also a key ingredient for making the communities diverse and vibrant.
The immigration rate of the province has increased drastically when we compared it to the last year’s immigration statistics when province welcomed 1,350 people via its Provincial Nominee Program, i.e. Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP). The immigration number becomes even more staggering when we compare it to the total number of nominees (600) back four years, i.e. in the year 2013.
A total of 2,150 immigration positions to be filled in the year to come, out of which, 1350 positions will be filled through Province’s Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) and rest 800 positions will be filled via Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIPP).
NSNP-Express Entry Stream is Opening Soon
The government of Nova Scotia is positive about immigration influx of immigrants in the province and also taking steps to enhance the infrastructure in the province to further augment the same. The province also lobbied to get the number of nominations increased for Nova Scotia from federal government of Canada.
Now, as per the reports, the express entry stream of the Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP) is opening soon to the suitable candidates registered in federal express entry system.
You will have to apply in the NSNP. In case, you are selected in NSNP, you will get nomination certificate from the province of Nova Scotia, which will allocate you 600 additional (Comprehensive Ranking System) points in Express entry, which are enough to make you eligible to receive ITA (invitation to apply) for Canadian Permanent Residency from Immigration Refugees, Citizenship, Canada (IRCC).

If you wish to apply in the upcoming express entry stream of NSNP, you must create your profile in the express entry first. If you already have a profile in express entry you must get your file ready to apply in Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP).
