Nova Scotia Invites Carpenters in the latest draw of NSNP- Labour Market Priorities Stream

visas default image In the latest draw of NSNP (Nova Scotia Nominee Program), the province of Nova Scotia in Canada has issued invitations to the Express Entry candidates with work experience as Carpenter. These invitations have been issued under the Labour Market Priorities Stream of NSNP, to the candidates in Express Entry pool. The draw opened on 20th September 2019.

NSNP Latest Labour Market Stream draw

The draw launched on 20th September was the 2nd draw of Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP) this month, as first draw (for French speaking candidates)was launched in the first week of the month only, i.e. on September 4, 2019.The candidates (with experience as carpenters)who have been selected in the September 20 draw, have 30 days to apply for a provincial nomination.

Launched in August 2018, Labour Market Priorities is one of the key streams of NSNP that assess and choose those applicants in the federal Express Entry system, who best match or fulfil the needs and requirements of the provincial labour market. However, the applicants getting a Letter of Interest from the Nova Scotia Immigration office can only apply for the provincial nomination.

The applicants who are able to receive nomination from Nova Scotia, province, become eligible to get additional 600 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points in their Express Entry account, which guarantees them an invitation to apply for permanent residency in Canada.

Eligibility criteria for the September 20, 2019

An applicant needs to:
  • Have a primary occupation of carpenter (NOC 7271)
  • Give letters of reference from employers, as defined in the application guide, to show that they have 2 or more years of skilled trades experience as a carpenter. (Self-employed individuals must provide documentation from 3rd parties confirming the service provided along with payment details. Self-declared main duties or affidavits are not acceptable proof of work experience.)
  • Have a CLB score of 5 or higher in English or French in all language abilities as demonstrated by providing your results from a language test approved by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada

Eligibility Criteria for 4th September, 2019 NSNP draw

An applicant needs to:
  • Have selected French as their 1st official language and have a CLB score of 8 or higher in French in all language abilities.
  • Have English as a 2nd official language with a CLB score of 6 or higher in English in all language abilities.
  • Have got a bachelor's degree OR have completed a program of 3 or more years at a university, college, trade or technical school, or other institute.
