The Nova Scotia Province of Canada has introduced a new Immigration stream for family physicians, Specialist Physicians and General Practitioners under its Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP). The purpose of this stream is to make the immigration process of physicians faster by reducing the involved paperwork and other aligned formalities.
To make this happen, the NSNP will depend on the credential assessments done by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of the province of Nova Scotia in a bid to remove duplicity. Nova Scotia Nominee Program is one of the most popular Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) of Canada.
New Physicians Stream of NSNP
The new Physicians stream of Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP) has only been designed for General Practitioners, family physicians (NOC 3112) and specialist physicians (NOC 3111), who have an employment offer sanctioned by either the Nova Scotia Health Authority or the Izaak Walton Killam Health Centre (based in the province's capital city, Halifax).
Dr. Jamie Tribo, is the first physician to be recruited under the new Physician stream of Nova Scotia Nominee program, which has been introduced by the province through a press release. At now, he is practicing in the USA and will soon setup a family practice in Cape Breton region of the province of Nova Scotia.
Reducing Paperwork and Hurdles for the Physicians
Speaking about the new stream Dr. Tibo Said, "We are looking forward to our move to Nova Scotia." "Obtaining a medical license in another country means clearing a lot of hurdles and paperwork before even beginning on immigration requirements. This new immigration program has made the process much simpler and shorter for us, and our recruiter has been a big help along the way."
