Next Express Entry Draw of July 2019 - will IRCC drop the cut off below 460 mark?

By Rajneesh Kumar Posted 16, Jul 2019

visas default image The IRCC recently launched the 14th express entry draw, wherein it dropped the CRS Score requirement or cut off marks third time in a row. This has instilled a new ray of hope among the Express Entry candidates with relatively low CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) score. Although, making any prediction about the Express Entry draw results is not safe, however, based on the current trend and EE pool status, one can make some assumption about the forthcoming draws.

Express Entry draw trends in 2019

In the last EE draw was the biggest of the year that invited 3,600 candidates first time in 2019 with the qualifying marks being 460 points. Let's take a look at the results of EE draw opened on 10th July 2019.
  • Number of invitations issued: 3,600
  • Rank required to be invited to apply: 3,600th or above
  • Date and time of round: July 10, 2019 at 12:31:36 UTC
  • CRS score of lowest-ranked candidate invited: 460
  • Tie-breaking rule: June 11, 2019 at 00:27:18 UTC
This massive draw first time in this year, has given a positive indication to thousands of express entry candidates waiting for the ITA (invitation to Apply) for Canadian permanent residency. No draw this year invited such high number of candidates till now, although, there wasn't much drop in the qualifying marks from IRCC (Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada).

What is the expectation from upcoming EE draw?

As per the Express Entry pool status on July 5, 2019, there were around 6,305 candidates in the EE pool with CRS score between 451 and 600. Moreover, there were 312 candidates in the pool with CRS Score between 601 and 1200.Now, in the 10th July EE draw, total 3,600 candidates received invitation to apply. It means there are still close to 3,000 candidates in the Pool with CRS Score above 451 points. Also, more candidates will enter in EE system till the time new draw arrives. Hence, looking the pool status and current EE draw trend, the drop in cut off (if any happens) won't be a major one, but minimal.
