It's the 19th Express Entry draw of the year launched by Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for the FSW category. The last EE draw launched almost a week before was for the special FST (Federal Skilled Trades) category. The draw opened on 3rd October, 2018 to invite the highest number of candidates, i.e. 3,900 to apply for permanent residency in Canada. Let's find more details about the draw.

19th Express Entry draw Opened on 3rd October

Find below the key statistics of the current Express Entry draw:

  • The draw is open: The current express entry draw is open from October 3, 2018 to October 4, 2018.
  • CRS score requirement: The CRS score requirement or qualifying marks in the draw is 445 CRS points or above
  • Number of Invitations to be issued: The IRCC to issue a total of 3,900 Canada PR invitations during the draw.
  • Tie-breaking rule:October 2, 2018 at 04:02:11 UTC

All invited applicants in this draw will have to submit complete Canadian PR application along with the required documents within 60 days of receiving the ITA (Invitation to Apply) from IRCC.

Analysis of 19th EE Draw

As far as timing is concerned the current EE draw opened right on time considering the fortnightly schedule. Few applicants may get confuse the current draw with the draw launched for FST category on 24th of last month, however, that draw is quite different from the regular FSW (Federal Skilled Worker) category draw.

High number of invitations despite no reduction in cut off marks

It's quite astonishing to see that IRCC is able to invite as many as 3,900 candidates to apply Canada PR without even making any reduction in the CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) score requirement for this particular express entry draw. In fact, for this draw, it has raised the cut off marks by 4 points to make the qualifying marks 445 CRS points or more. It's the 2nd time IRCC has invited such high number of candidates after September draw.

The applicants with relatively low CRS Score will be disappointed to see no reduction in the CRS score requirement even in the last quarter of the year 2018. This year, the qualifying marks remained in 440s only and never came below 440 mark in any of the EE draws launched this year.

Not received Invitation to apply in the current EE Draw? Here are the options for you

If you are disappointed with the fact that you didn't get the invite in present EE draw, you don't have to be as there are alternate pathways also available to obtain permanent residency in Canada. You can either improve your CRS score or apply in the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) of Canada to get Canada PR Invitation through the provincial nomination.
