CRS Score Dropped to 464 points in latest Express Entry draw- CEC & PNP Candidates Got Invitations
Despite the disruption occurred due to Covid-19, Canadian government or IRCC (Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada) continues to hold draws and invite the candidates to apply for Canadian permanent residency.
The latest draw of Express Entry system took place on
April 9, 2020. This time around the draw opened for the
CEC (Canadian Experience Class) and
Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates. Find below the details of both category draws.
EE draw for CEC Candidates
Find below the results of the latest draw of Federal EE system, opened for the candidates registered under Canadian Experience Class (CEC) category:
- The draw is open: The current express entry draw is open from April 9, 2020 to April 10, 2020.
- CRS score requirement: The CRS score requirement or qualifying marks in the draw is 464 CRS points or above
- Number of Invitations to be issued: The IRCC to issue a total of 3,294 Canada PR invitations during the draw.
- Tie-breaking rule:January 4, 2020 at 12:16:45 UTC
The IRCC (Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada) also invited PNP candidates in the draw opened on 9

EE draw for PNP Candidates
Find below the results of the latest draw of Federal EE system, opened for candidates with provincial nomination:
- The draw is open: The current express entry draw is open from April 9, 2020 to April 10, 2020.
- CRS score requirement: The CRS score requirement or qualifying marks in the draw is 698 CRS points or above
- Number of Invitations to be issued: The IRCC to issue a total of 606 Canada PR invitations during the draw.
- Tie-breaking rule:December 18, 2019 at 11:29:51 UTC
The Canadian Experience Class or CEC is one of the three main categories of Express Entry System along with FSW (Federal Skilled Worker) and FST (Federal Skilled Trades). Moreover, the PNP candidates are those candidates of Express Entry pool, which also have got the nomination from any Canadian province, and hence, received 600 additional CRS points based on the provincial nomination. Now, Canada has
invited total 26,500 candidates in 8 Express Entry draws (counting both draws on 9
th April as one) occurred this year. Canada has immigration target of inviting total
341,000 new immigrants in 2020.

The two draws in the above graph showing high CRS score requirement, i.e. on 18
th March and 9
th April, are the draws for the candidates with provincial nomination and additional CRS points.
Analysis of 9th April Express Entry draw
For the PNP nomination candidates, the CRS Score requirement is understandably high, while it has dropped to 464 points for the CEC category candidates. The CEC candidates are those express entry candidates who are already in Canada have Canadian work experience as well.
