January 2021 SkillSelect Invitation Round Invites 363 Candidates The Department of Home Affairs, Australia has released the details of the much-awaited January 2021 SkillSelect Invitation round. The latest round opened on January 21, 2021, to invite 363 candidates to apply for the below visa categories:

  • Skilled Independent Visa Subclass 189
  • Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) Visa Subclass 491- Family-Sponsored
It is the first Invitation round this year. The previous SkilledSelect Invitation round opened in October 2020.

Latest SkillSelect Invitation round

In the invitation round on 21st January, DHA invited 200 candidates under Subclass 189 visa with a points' requirement of 65 points. Moreover, 163 invitations issued to Subclass 491 visa with the same points' requirement.

After the January invitation round, Australia has invited a total of 1,773 candidates in the program year 2020-21 to apply for General Skilled Migration Program (GSM) visas (i.e. Subclass 189/491). Australia has conducted only five rounds this year, given the Global pandemic cased situation. Total invitation issued in this program year (July 2020 to January 2021) Find below the details of total issued invitations this year until 21 January:
  • Total Subclass 189 visa invitations-1,190
  • Subclass 491 Visa invitations this year -583
However, things are gradually getting back to normal. The federal government has also allocated the full annual nomination quota to the different Australian states, i.e. South Australia, Victoria, Western Australia, Tasmania, etc.
