These workers are chiefly hired from the Pacific Islands for seasonal work. The Scheme is very popular in New Zealand and is a crucial factor in the NZ industrial growth.
It also provides the tremendous employment opportunity and experience to the pacific workers and helps them send the funds to their own communities back home.
The Horticulture and Viticulture Industry

However, as per the conventional New Zealand Policy, in this industry as well, the foreign workers are only employed in Horticulture and Viticulture Industry, if there is no appropriate workers is available for that job.
