IRCC Drops CRS score in latest Express Entry draw- Invites record number of candidates in 2020 In the latest Express Entry draw opened on 23rd December 2020, the IRCC has invited 5,000 candidates yet again. It is the fourth time in a row Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has invited 5K candidates to apply for Canada Permanent Residence (PR) visa and created a new record of Express Entry invitations in a year.

All-Program Express Entry draw on 23 December

The IRCC has dropped the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score requirement to just 468 points in this latest All-program Express Entry draw. It is the lowest cut off in the year 2020 for an all-program EE draw.

With this latest draw, now IRCC has invited total 107,350 candidates in 2020, while this seems to be the last EE draw of this year. This is a new record for a number of invitations issued by IRCC in any year, since the launch of Express Entry System way back in 2015.

Express Entry Invitation in Last 5 EE Draws

This is really a great sign for the Canada PR visa aspirants as, despite the interruption caused by the global pandemic, the IRCC invited a record number of Express Entry Candidates. The EE system overachieved its annual invitation target of 91,800 for 2020.

Hence, the next year could be even grander in terms of the issued invitations as Canadian government to admit 403,000 people in 2021. Out of this number, 108,500 people will be invited under the Federal High skilled category, i.e. under the three categories of EE system, i.e.

  • Federal Skilled Worker (FSW)
  • Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
  • Federal Skilled Trades (FST)
