IRCC Launched Express Entry draw for FST category on October 16, 2019

The IRCC (Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada) has launched an express entry draw on 16th October 2019 for FST (Federal Skilled Trades) Category of Express Entry System. The FST is one of the below three categories of Express entry system, i.e.

  • Federal Skilled Worker (FSW)
  • Federal Skilled Trades (FST)
  • Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
The FST category is meant for the overseas nationals with a certificate of qualification that proves they are qualified to work in an eligible skilled trade in Canada or have an eligible offer of employment in Canada, amid other conditions.Let's find out more details about latest FST- express entry draw.

Express Entry draw for FST category

Find below the results of the latest draw of Federal EE system for Federal Skilled Trades segment.
  • The draw is open: The current express entry draw is open from October 16, 2019 to October 17, 2019.
  • CRS score requirement: The CRS score requirement or qualifying marks in the draw is 357 CRS points or above
  • Number of Invitations to be issued: The IRCC to issue a total of 500 Canada PR invitations during the draw.
  • Tie-breaking rule:March 4, 2019 at 20:36:42 UTC
The FST candidates, who got Invitation to Apply for Canadian PR this time around require submitting complete Canada PR application and documents within 60 days.

Analysis of FST draw Statistics

This was the second Federal Skilled Trades based express entry draw this year. The first one was launched by IRCC on 15th May 2019. In this latest FST- express entry draw, IRCC has issued 500 invitations with a CRS score requirement of just 357 points. The cut off is always low when it comes to Federal Skilled trades draws. In last FST draw as well IRCC invited same number of candidates.

Express entry and PNP draws with low CRS score requirement

Various express entry and Provincial nominee program (PNP) draws this year invited the candidates with relatively low CRS sore requirement ranging from 300 to 439 CRS points.

Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP), i.e. the PNP of Alberta province in Canada remains the top of list as it has been inviting the candidates through its express entry stream with CRS score as low as just 300 points. Among other PNPs, Ontario (435 CRS points the lowest) and Nova Scotia (400 CRS points the lowest) also invited the candidates with low CRS score this year. Rest of the PNPs don't invite candidates based on CRS sore as they have their own Point system.

Among Express Entry draws, the lowest CRS score requirement has been under FST category, i.e. 433 points in May 15 draw. As far as regular express entry draw (for FSW Category) are concerned, the lowest CRS score requirement this year was 438 CRS points in 30th January draw.
