December Express Entry Draw - Will IRCC create history with more than 100,000 Invitations

By Rajneesh Kumar Posted 09, Dec 2020

December Express Entry Draw - Will IRCC create history with more than 100,000 Invitations The Express Entry draw occurred on November 25, 2020 took everyone by surprise, as it was exceptional in many ways. First, it opened within a week of the previous EE draw, which was not expected considering Express entry has already achieved its annual target.

The other surprise was the number of invitations as Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) issued 5,000 invitations yet again and that too within a week. The third and pleasant surprise came in the form of reduced Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score requirement. The IRCC first time dropped the CRS to 469 points for an all-program express entry draw this year. Now, all these indications have encouraged the applicants as well as the experts for the upcoming EE draw this year.

High Expectations from December Express Entry draw

The IRCC has issued 97,350 invitations this year via EE system, and now, it is just 2,650 invitations away from the magical figure of 100,000 invitations this year.

Express Entry Invitations in Last 5 EE draws

The IRCC opens EE draws twice a month and as per that, we may expect two more draws in the month of December 2020. Even if only one draw occurs this month, the express entry invitations will easily cross the mark of 100,000. If it happens, this will be a new express entry record of invitations in a single year.

Will CRS score drop further?

Well, ideally, after annual target is achieved the further fall is less likely to happen in the cut off, however, the IRCC has proved everyone wrong with the 25th November draw. Hence, there will not be a surprise if it drops the qualifying marks further in the upcoming EE draw.

If cut off marks fall in next draw, this will be a great news for the express entry candidates with CRS score below 469 mark. Thus, the closing of the year may bring good news for few of the applicants with CRS score in 460s.
