Canadian PNP News & Updates as on 14-05-2022

The Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) of Canada continue to invite a significant number of candidates for Canadian PR (Permanent Resident) Visa in the year 2022. In the first half of the May 2022, a few key Canadian PNPs conducted draws and invited foreign skilled professionals to apply for provincial nomination. Take a look.

IRCC invited PNP candidates in EE draw

In the latest  Express Entry System draw held on May 11, 2022, the IRCC (Immigration Refugees, and Citizenship Canada) issued Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for Canadian PR (Permanent Resident) Visa to 545 Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates with 600 additional CRS points. Hence, the CRS score requirement in this draw was 753 points.

British Columbia PNP- targeted draws

British Columbia, Canada held the targeted draws of British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) on May 10, 2022 to issue nearly 171 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for provincial nomination. The BC conducted the targeted draws to invite tech workers as well as the candidates under key occupations, i.e. Early childhood educators and assistants (NOC 4214), Healthcare.

BC PNP draw for Entrepreneur category

The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) also held draw for Entrepreneur Immigration- Regional Pilot on 11 May 2022 to invite nearly 5 candidates with a minimum point score requirement of 109 points for the Entrepreneurs category applicants. It was the second draw under this category this year as the previous draw held on 22nd March.

Express Entry draw for PNP candidates

Latest draw of federal Express Entry System held on March 16, 2022 to issue ITAs (Invitations to Apply) to 924 Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) category candidates. All invited applicants in this draw had provincial nomination, which means they already have the 600 additional CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) points in their express entry account.

Manitoba PNP draw on 5 May

Manitoba held the latest draw of Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) ON May 5, 2022 to issue 315 Letters of Advice (LAAs) to apply for provincial nomination for Canadian PR (Permanent Resident) Visa. In this MPNP draw, Manitoba invited 34 candidates under Overseas Skilled Worker category with a Points requirement of 691 points.

Saskatchewan Invites 198 candidates in latest SINP draw

The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program held the latest draw on May 5, 2022 to issue total 198 Invitations to Apply (ITAs). The SINP invited candidates under its OID (Occupation in Demand) and Express Entry subcategory along with one invitation issued to Ukrainian candidate as a special measure.

Alberta PNP update

The government of Alberta has lifted the restriction on hiring the Temporary Foreign Workers (TFWs) to meet the workforce shortage in the province of Alberta. This will help employers in the province to recruit TFWs and fulfil the required targets regarding employing the workforce.

British Columbia targeted PNP draws on 3 May

British Columbia, conducted targeted draws of British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) on May 3, 2022 to issue nearly 183 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for provincial nomination. The ITAs issued to Skills Immigration and Express Entry category candidates of BC PNP.
