Express Entry System 2017- Year in Review for Fastest Immigration System of Canada

Posted - 04, Jan 2018

Year 2017 was outstanding for Canadian immigration. Needless to mention that it was a busy year for the IRCC (Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada) due to incredible Express Entry draws throughout the year resulting in massive immigration influx. Express Entry is the fastest and most popular immigration system of Canada and hence, the whole Canadian immigration revolves around it.

Express Entry System was launched in January 2015 by IRCC (then CIC) with the purpose selecting skilled and talented workers to meet the demands of Canadian labour market and also to make the permanent residency process of Canada faster and better.

However, in its initial years, express entry faced criticism as well for not being flexible as less number of applicants were able to get the Permanent Residency in Canada in first two years. However, in 2017, express entry side-lined all the arguments about its success and launched massive draw to invite record number of immigrants in the year.
