Government Emphasizing on Regional Migration
The Australian Government has indicated that it is likely to consider giving preference to the regional skilled migration, in view of major Oz cities, i.e. Sydney and Melbourne getting overburdened due to congestion of its growing populations. If this scheme gets implemented we may see some key changes in the regional skilled migration process of Australia.
For instance, more occupations may get added to the ROL (Regional Occupation List), increased number of invites issued under Skilled Regional (provisional) visa Subclass 489, relaxations to the candidates from states and regions to encourage the regional settlement under subclass 489 visa, etc. It will provide great opportunity to the overseas skilled workers to apply for relevant state nominated visas and move to Australia through a hassle free process.
