Australia- NSW has updated NSW 190 Priority Skilled Occupation List on 12th July 2019

Australian state, New South Wales has updated its NSW 190 Priority Skilled Occupation List for the 2019-20 financial year on July 12, 2019. This year,NSW has introduced a system to show the availability of occupations for nomination by NSW. It will revise the same on a regular basis regularly to show any changes, including the occupation ceiling limit reached. The state has also updated the NSW 489 Regional Skilled Occupation list on the same date.

However, just the availability of an occupation does not guarantee nomination. To obtain the same, one has to score good points as well on the SkillSelect System.

Revised NSW 190 Priority Skilled Occupation List for 2019-20

The NSW state nomination demand is very high among the aspirants of Australian permanent residency visa. The state of New South Wales will continue to invite and choose the candidates for nomination, who possesses the experience in an occupation in NSW 190 Priority Skilled Occupation List and also meet the nomination criteria of NSW.

Here are some key updates with regards to the state nomination via NSW 190 List.
  • A few key occupations on the NSW 190 Priority Occupation List are now subject to an extra requirement for nomination by state of NSW.
  • The extra requirement for such occupations is to be living in the state of NSW, and to have been working in NSW for minimum 1 year, in the nominated occupation.
  • Such occupations are specified on the NSW 190 Priority Skilled Occupation List.
The NSW shall select and invite candidates on an ongoing basis throughout the financial year. There are no key dates for this process.

Skilled nominated Visas Subclass 190

In the new financial year, the government of NSW shall invite the applicants for a skilled nominated visa subclass 190 for those occupations on the NSW 190 Priority Skilled Occupation List (NSW 190 List). The state will select the occupations as perthe lists to meet the skills needs of the NSW economy. Also, it will regularly update the lists as per the skills needs in state of NSW.

Skilled regional nominated migration (489)

The state of NSW has also released the NSW Skilled Regional Occupation list (NSW 489 List)on the same date, i.e. July 12, 2019. The subclass 489 visa is the temporary visa issued generally for 4 years unlike the Subclass 190 visa, which is a permanent visa. Subclass 489 visa will also be replaced by new Subclass 491 visa in November 2019.
