Canberra invites 169 candidates in latest ACT invitation round

The ACT (Australian Capital Territory) opened the latest Canberra Matrix Invitation round on March 28, 2022 to issue 169 ITAs (Invitations to Apply) for state nomination. Canberra as invited the candidates to apply nomination for Skilled Nominated Visa Subclass 190 and Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) Visa Subclass 491. Overseas applicants and candidates with critical Skilled Occupations received the most invitations. Find out more.

Find below the details of the latest ACT invitation round:

• Small Business Owners- Only one invitation issued under this category to apply nomination for Subclass 491 visa with a point’s requirement of 65 point.
• 457 / 482 visa holders- One invitation under this category for Subclass 190 Visa with a point’s requirement of 110 points.
• Critical Skill Occupations – The ACT issued most, i.e. 87 invitations under Critical Skills Occupations category.

• Overseas Applicants (Critical Skill Occupations) – The Overseas candidates received 80 invitations this time around. Subclass 491 visa received 75 ITAs (Invitations to Apply)

Canberra has a fixed number of ACT nomination places available each month (pro-rata against the yearly allocation).  The top ranked Matrix in each occupation invited for ACT nomination. The cut?off for selection based on the outstanding monthly allocation, the date and time of Matrix submission, occupation limit and demand. The higher the demand for an occupation, the greater the rank of the Matrix score invited.
