As we have entered in the 2nd quarter of the year, the expectations of the express entry applicants are going sky high in terms of low qualifying marks and higher number of invited candidates. Last year also, the IRCC (Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada) followed somewhat similar trend and started reducing the cut off marks from 2nd quarter onwards.

What IRCC will offer to express entry candidates in future EE draws?

As already discussed, last year's incredible EE draw results have encouraged most of the applicants about their chances this year. The signs are also bright for the applicants, if you look at last Express entry draw result.

In the last, i.e. 7th express entry draw of the year, IRCC announced the qualifying marks as 444 CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) points and hence, invited a total of 3,500 express entry applicants to apply for Permanent Residency (PR) in Canada.

Highest number of candidate invited in 7th Express Entry draw

The 7th draw of federal express entry system this year, saw the highest number of Canada PR invitations issued by IRCC (Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada). Some experts are indicating that it might be a positive sign and IRCC may start drooping the qualifying marks for the benefit of the applicant, so that more candidates become eligible for ITA (Invitation to Apply) for Canada PR.

What does the Express Entry Pool says

As per the express entry pool update on April 4, 2018, about 6,552 candidates in express entry pool has their CRS score between 431 and 440. This indeed is a huge number. The IRCC invited applicants with 444 CRS points on draw held on 11th April, 2018. Now keeping the above equation in mind, this time around, the qualifying marks are expected to be around this mark only. However, since, IRCC often surprise the applicants with its unexpected moves, we never know what going to come up in next draw from IRCC.
