The 8th draw of Express entry system has beenlaunched by IRCC on April 25, 2018. The draw was in time and yet again issued the 3,500 invitations for Canadian permanent residency to the registered applicants in Federal Express Entry System. The draw saw the marginal fall also in the qualifying marks.

Let's take a look at the key statistics of the current EE draw.

  • The draw is open: The current express entry draw is open from April 25, 2018 to April 26, 2018.
  • CRS score requirement: The CRS score requirement or qualifying marks in the draw is 441 CRS points or above
  • Number of Invitations to be issued: The IRCC to issue a total of 3,500 Canada PR invitations during the draw.
  • Tie-breaking rule: December 8, 2017 at 10:25:33 UTC

The people who have received the ITA (Invitations to Apply) from IRCC (Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada) in the present EE draw, need to submit the complete Canada PR application along with the required documents within 90 days of the receipt of ITA.

8th EE Draw analysis

The current EE draw didn't give any surprise to the applicants in terms of timing, as it was right on time and followed the fortnightly cycle of the draws. The interesting thing to note was the number of invites issued by IRCC (Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada). The IRCC issued a total of 3,500 invitations for Canadian permanent residency in the present EE draw, which was 2nd time in a row. Last time around also it issued the same number of express entry invites to the applicants.

Marginal decrease in qualifying marks

The qualifying marks or CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) requirement has been marginal decreased by IRCC (i.e. 441 CRS points) in the current draw. However, this marginal fall was enough to raise number of invitations to massive 3,500 mark.

It clearly indicates the number of new applicants registering in the express entry system every fortnight. This is one of the reason that the CRS score requirement is not decreasing by much this year. This is the major difference in the draw results of this year compared to last year.

What are the expectations from future EE Draws?

The qualifying marks have been stable for a long time now this year, hence, the same is expected to decrease in the 2nd quarter of the year 2018. If you are an aspirant of Canadian permanent residency visa, this is the perfect time to apply Canada PR as the process requirements have been eased a lot by IRCC through consistent immigration rule changes in last few months.
